Engineered for high-horsepower street and track builds, this Honda K-Series Helical-Cut Dog Box Gearset Replacement bridges the gap between massive power handling and streetable gear engagement. Designed as a direct-fit upgrade into your existing transmission casing, this kit replaces fragile OEM syncros and narrow stock gears with 5-tooth heavy-duty engagement dogs and significantly widened, forged steel gear profiles.
By combining the strength and fast-shifting benefits of a dog ring engagement system with the quiet, smooth torque transmission of helical-cut teeth, this set delivers minimum drivetrain power loss without the unbearable gear whine typical of straight-cut box designs.
Key Specifications & Options
* Target Power Output: Rated up to 600 HP
* Engagement System: 5-Tooth Heavy-Duty Serviceable Dogs
* Material & Treatment: High-strength forged alloy, heat-treated, cryogenically treated, and shot-peened
* Included Components: 3rd and 4th gear pairs, hub and slider set, serviceable dog rings
Gear Ratio Configurations
| Build Type | 3rd Gear Ratio | 4th Gear Ratio | Primary Application |
| All-Motor (Short Ratio) | 1.50 | 1.15 | High-RPM naturally aspirated builds needing tight gear spacing to stay in peak powerband. |
| Turbo (Long Ratio) | 1.30 | 1.00 | High-boost turbo builds requiring extended gearing to load the engine and maximize top-end pull. |
Performance Features
* No-Lift Shifting (NLS): Designed to support clutchless full-throttle upshifts when paired with an electronic strain gauge shift knob to momentarily unload the drivetrain.
* Street Compatibility: Standard clutch operation is required for normal street driving to prevent premature wear.
* Serviceable Design: Features replaceable dog rings and sliders, allowing cost-effective maintenance without needing to buy a completely new gearset down the road.
Important Installation & Setup Guidelines
> ⚠️ CRITICAL CLEARANCE WARNING:
> For transmission cases using a front-mounted speed sensor (rather than a differential sensor), you MUST clearance the speed sensor using a washer. Because these performance gears feature a significantly larger diameter, failure to add appropriate washer spacing will cause the larger 3rd gears to strike the sensor magnet and destroy the component.

Operational Requirements:
* Strain Gauge Setup: Proper strain gauge calibration and ignition cut timing are required for clutchless racing shifts. Improper ignition cut settings or aggressive clutchless shifts during normal driving will damage the dog teeth and engagement system.
* Professional Installation Recommended: Correct shimming, thrust play, and sensor clearance checks are essential for gearset longevity.
