Upgrade your transmission with the ultimate high-performance, budget-friendly dog box conversion designed for street and race Honda K-Series engines. Built from heat-treated, cryo-treated, and shot-peened high-strength forged steel, this gearset replaces weak factory synchros with a robust 5-dog engagement system capable of holding up to 600 HP.
Featuring helical-cut teeth, this set offers the strength and rapid engagement of a dog box while minimizing the excessive whining noise typical of straight-cut gears, making it much more friendly for street driving.
Key Features
-
Helical-Cut Tooth Profile: Designed to increase gear mesh strength and reduce drivetrain power loss while remaining significantly quieter than straight-cut gearsets.
-
5-Dog Engagement System: Massive dog teeth provide a wide target window for lightning-fast, positive gear engagement without synchro failure.
-
Serviceable Design: Built on splined gear assemblies featuring replaceable, serviceable engagement rings. | **Included Hardware** | 1–4 hub and slider set with fully serviceable dogs |
-
Strain Gauge / No-Lift Shift Compatible: Supports clutchless shifting under racing conditions when paired with a properly calibrated ECU strain gauge (ignition cut). Clutch use is still required for standard street driving.
-
Forged & Heat-Treated Construction: Heat-treated, cryo-treated, and shot-peened for maximum fatigue life and impact resistance under high load.
Gear Ratio Configuration Options
Choose the 3rd and 4th gear drop that matches your build:
| Gear | Standard Ratio | All-Motor Short Ratio | Turbo Long Ratio |
| 1st Gear | 2.80 | — | — |
| 2nd Gear | 1.90 | — | — |
| 3rd Gear | — | 1.50 | 1.30 |
| 4th Gear | — | 1.15 | 1.00 |
Critical Installation Requirements & Modifications
IMPORTANT: Due to the oversized design of these heavy-duty forged gears, specific clearancing steps are required during assembly:
Reverse Actuator & Fork: Must clearance the reverse actuator and reverse fork to provide adequate room for the larger gear diameter.
Front Speed Sensor Clearance: For transmissions utilizing a front-casing speed sensor (not differential-driven), you must shim/clearance the speed sensor using washers. Failure to clearance will cause the larger gears to hit and destroy the sensor magnet.
Operational & Setup Notes
-
Clutch Usage: Normal street driving requires using the clutch. Clutchless shifting is strictly for high-rpm racing applications with an active ECU ignition-cut setup.
-
Strain Gauge Setup: Precise ECU engine/ignition cut timing is required for clutchless shifts. Improper strain gauge settings, poor shift technique, or user error will cause rounding and severe damage to the dog teeth, requiring service/replacement.
